If I had to pick a fight to referee, this would be the one.
Yesterday I bought this (except mine is green):
Today, I spent an hour re-setting the timer to 15 minute intervals, to keep my children from arguing over whose turn it was to clean the floor, the couch cushions, the counters, and any other dust- or crumb-covered surface they could find.
I am s0 never sweeping again.

That is hilarious! It sounds like you have hit upon the right answer to get a lot of help - find a way to make it fun that doesn't seem as much like work, and they will be busy helping all of the time =)
Oh mercy, I want one.
This confirms my suspicions that cleaning never pays.
