Looking Back at 2008

The Year in Review or Our Christmas Newsletter (a few weeks late, I blame the baby)



In January: Snowballs were made in the south and the Tooth Fairy made her maiden voyage to our house.

February: Jannet got a magazine makeover and a positive pregnancy test.

March: Mike was awarded a Joint Service Achievement Medal for his work in the Air Force.

April: Mike and Jannet went on a second honeymoon to VA Beach while the kids had their first sleepovers with relatives. Lenna cut her hair and donated the ponytail to Locks of Love.

May: Lenna graduated from kindergarten and both kids took swimming lessons.

June: Our house hosted some unwelcome guests for several weeks, some company just can't take a hint. Jannet got a new church calling and went to Relief Society after 3 years in primary.

July: Our family logged 24,000 frequent flyer miles on a trip to CA to the Law family reunion. Lenna conquered the deep end while Andy defeated the water slide at the pool.

August: School started with Lenna in first grade, Andrew in preschool, and Jannet teaching again. Lenna and Andrew started gymnastics.

September: Our family took a day trip to Six Flags where the kids rode their first roller coaster. Andrew turned four with a party featuring Lightening MacQueen.

October: Andrew starred in his first primary program by providing a sideshow of defiance. Halloween just kept coming, before it finally came and went. Jannet said goodbye to her preschool classroom and students with a mixture of relief and sadness.

November: Rebecca made her reluctant debut into the world at a healthy 9 1/2 lbs. Lenna turned seven with a cache of Hannah Montana gifts. Mike and Jannet celebrated nine years together, and Mike was discharged from the Air Force.

December: Christmas brought company, Santa brought presents, and Lenna had a live baby for her nativity play. We took a trip to Maryland to introduce Rebecca to some aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents and decided that was our last road trip in our compact car.

January (because we are a little late): Rebecca was blessed on the first Sunday of the New Year. Andrew started preschool. Lenna moved up to senior primary. Mike got a new job as a civilian. Jannet finally feels like she is in control again after 12 months of crazy!
