If you are having trouble getting motivated to mop your floors, here is one way.
Leave your four year old unattended watching tv while you take a shower. Make sure he has never thrown up before (that he remembers) so has no idea what to do when the urge hits. Then you just might be lucky enough to come out and discover a trail of vomit consisting of half-digested oatmeal and apple juice leading from one end of the hall to the other, culminating with a lovely spatter all over the back of your new couch. In an effort to throw in a little mom guilt, the culprit will be hiding behind the chair crying, not because he feels awful, but because he is afraid he will be in trouble for making such a mess.
On a positive note, the rest of the house is a mess and the laundry and dishes are piling up but my hallway is now nice and shiny and disinfected.

Awww Jannet, that sounds horrible! I'm glad that you are able to see the end result - a nice, clean, shiny hallway! Sounds like you have a sick household!! If it makes you feel any better, we spent a better part of today in the ER. Heather and I are nursing a sick feral cat (about 5 months old) who is scared to death to be penned up and have to have medication shoved in his eye. As Heather was removing her hand from putting the 1st dose of medicine in his eyes, he reached up and clamped onto her right pointer finger with his teeth and would not let go. She has two deep puncture wounds in her finger, and then scratches on his hand. It's been a nightmare!! We got right in the doctors within 10 minutes of it happening - only to find out an hour later that we were going to have to go to ER b/c of rabies shots. The doctor gave her a tetnus shot before we left. In the ER, she had an IV with an hour drip of antibiotic, and ended up having an additional 12 shots. One in each arm, one in each hip, and eight on her finger circling the wound site. Those 8 killed her - she was in a lot of pain, and is still now. An animal control officer also came to the ER to get information and see if they needed to do anything. We left there with her having to have her hand elevated for the next 48 hours, two prescriptions - a strong antibiotic and a pain pill, and an order to put ice on her hand to help the swelling. Her finger and hand were extremely swollen. On top of that, we have to make an appt. to go back to family doctor on Monday to check the wound site, we need to clean the wound every day, and the Health Dept will be contacting us. Evidently the rabies shots are a series that have to be repeated at 7 days, 14 days and 21 days. These are all given by the health dept. and the ER sends a report to the Health Dept b/c they are giving their injections if it is a weekend or after hour emergency. Needless to say, it was not the day we had planned on, and it was a very painful one for Heather. That catches you up on our excitement =(

What? He's never thrown up before? No way, I have NO sympathy for you. JJ throws up at least once or twice a month. No sympathy at all. Especially because your kitchen floor is clean and mine is not.
